Abstract
In this research endeavor, we thoroughly examine the intricate nexus between the contemporary lifestyle choices of Generation Z in Indonesia and their profound ramifications on the human lifespan. Our study draws upon the rich tapestry of physical anthropology insights to investigate how the evolving lifestyle of Gen Z, characterized by digital immersion, altered dietary patterns, and changing recreational habits impacts the potential longevity of this demographic. We focus specifically on a diverse group of Gen Z students in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Airlangga. Our overarching objective is to scrutinize the pivotal role played by the modern lifestyle choices of Gen Z, including sedentary behavior, increased screen time, dietary preferences, and shifts in recreational habits, in shaping their life expectancy. Employing a quantitative research methodology, we meticulously collect data through a structured questionnaire, enabling us to derive comprehensive insights into the multifaceted aspects of lifestyle choices that influence the life spans of Gen Z students in Surabaya, Indonesia. Our anticipated results hold the promise of elucidating whether digital immersion, dietary changes, and lack of physical activity can have meaningful consequences for their future health and longevity. Additionally, we gained important insights into the complex interaction between modern lifestyles and these factors of human biodiversity and bone health, providing valuable information for promoting general well-being and longevity in the digital age. This research deepens our understanding of how evolving lifestyle choices play an important role in shaping human lifespan, especially among Gen Z in Indonesia. It underscores the potential for promoting healthier living practices to enhance their future longevity. Furthermore, it highlights the interdisciplinary nature of this study, revealing the intersection between physical anthropology and the domain of international relations, making it particularly relevant in a world where global interconnectedness and cultural exchanges are integral facets of the contemporary human experience.
