Abstract

Electronic retribution (e-retribution) is an innovation of Surakarta city government for better, easier, faster and transparent government service quality. This study aims to determine the acceptance of traditional market traders by analyzing their acceptance attitude using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The knowledge on the traditional market sellers' acceptance on an electronic system will help government in designing smart city concept. This study uses primary data from all stalls in Depok market. This study uses Pearson correlation as data analysis. Result indicates that Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) and Perceived Usefulness (PU) have a positive effect on Actual Technology Use (AU), and Behavioral Intention (BI) has a negative effect on Actual Use (AU). This result shows that the system easiness and usefulness are critical in terms of Electronic Government (e-Government) system acceptance for traditional market sellers. The practical implication of this study is that the government needs to provide a helpdesk in the traditional market to help sellers in using the e-Retribution as part of the e-Government system.
