Abstract

This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of omega-3 PUFA rich dietary regime on the profile of blood serum cholesterol, high density Lipoprotein (HDL), Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL), and triglyceride in Filial Etawah goat. The three dietary treatments were basal diet with omega 3 PUFA supplementation (3.9% (P0), 5.1% (P1), 5.1% + mineral lick (P2) adlibitum. Feed intake during the experimental periods of (30 days) significantly improved. In contrast, cholesterol, HDL and LDL, and trigliceride didn't get influenced by omega 3 PUFA. Supplementation of concentrate feed rich in Omega-3 PUFA to filial Etawah goat with or without mineral lick could maintain the levels of blood serum cholesterol, HDL and LDL, and triglyceride in the normal range, therefore, it could support the long life and health of filial Etawah goat.
