The economic impact of tourism sector in Central Java province: An analysis of social accounting matrix

Abstract

This paper is focused on tourism sector and the social accounting matrix analysis. Tourism sector defined by Hotels and Restaurants Sector. This sector can provides a lot of opportunities for sustainable economic development. This study found three findings based on multiplier analysis. First, poor households income is higher than rich household income in rural. Second, rich household income is higher than poor households income in urban. Third, labor production factor is higher than capital production factor. Our recomendation, tourism sector can developed by government, because it will be effective for poor household in rural and it can reduce unemployment.
