Abstract
Micro-EDM is widely used in micro-part manufacturing that requires accurate sizes and high quality of surface finish. In this paper, an empirical model of erosion process has been proposed. This model is able to predict crater size and volume of material removal per discharge. In order to eliminate the irregularity such as arcing in the analysis, the overall removal rate is calculated base on regular spark number. The spark numbers are counted by pulse counting method.
