Abstract

In the last two decades, Dye-sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) have been frequently discussed due to its daily use. Various modifications of the solar cell manufacturing method are currently needed to get high-efficiency magnitudes influenced by several factors. Improvisation by addition variety concentration of Ag metal into the dye using the spin coating method has been carried out in this study. In addition, the strategy has been offered to maximize the function of the dye as a sensitizer. In this study, FESEM characterization was carried out to observe the morphology of the material surfaces. The presence of TiO2 and Ag are evaluated by EDX and XRD analysis. The Absorbances have been measured by UV–vis spectroscopy, and photovoltaic performance has been analyzed by IV-Meter (solar simulator) and IPCE. The highest efficiency magnitude is 6.30 % obtained in the smallest concentration of Ag addition, denoted as TiO2:LEG4-Ag1. Therefore, the addition of Ag with small concentration considerably impacted on improving DSSC's performance.
