Abstract

Attitudes that affect the views of an individual will have an impact on the intention to perform a behavior. The more subjective norms support a person's behavior to carry out early detection of cervical cancer with the Visual Inspection Acetic Acid (VIA) method, the more trust someone is to carry out an VIA examination. This study aims to examine the relationship between subjective norms and trust for early detection of cervical cancer with Visual Inspection Acetic Acid Method. Correlational descriptive research design using a cross sectional approach with purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted in Langsat Health Center Pekanbaru with sample of 60 respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used is univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of this study indicate that 38 respondents have high subjective norms with high trust (63.3%), 2 respondents have low subjective norms with high trust (3.3%), and 20 respondents have low subjective norms with low trust (33.3%). Statistical test results obtained p value = 0,000 < α = (0.05). There is a relationship between subjective norms and the trust in early detection of cervical cancer using the VIA method in women of childbearing age. This study is recommended to influence the behavior of mothers, in early detection of cervical cancer with the VIA method.
