Abstract

Foot impression evidence is useful for person identification. The present study was aimed to derive formulae for stature determination from foot outline among Javanese population in Indonesia. The study included 200 adult Javanese in Indonesia. Following the procedure, foot outlines and heights measurements were recorded. The data were analysed statistically. Regression equations were derived from 10 foot outline length measurements and stature for males, females and pooled samples. It is concluded that the derived regression equations are suitable to determine stature from foot outline lengths (3D) of Indonesia Javanese population. These equations can be applied in real crime scenarios.
