Reformulating Indonesia Foreign Policy: Transforming and Re-Shaping the Concept of Indonesia as a Middle Power in the Era of US-China Trade War

Abstract

This article tries to explain the significance of Indonesia's role in the midst of the US-China Trade War era which can be addressed with a strong and characterized foreign policy: on the one hand providing a way for Indonesia's national interests and on the other hand being part of the solution in a world that is on the verge of crisis. This article emphasizes the importance of reviewing the concept of a middle power state in the style of Indonesia so that it can then be matched with a qualified verb for the country's image in the future. Especially Indonesia has ordained itself as an emerging economy, which needs to be used as a basis for thinking construction in the formulation of foreign policy.
