Abstract

Eels are one type of freshwater fish and their growth is affected by the type of feed and their eating habits. This research is an experimental study by randomized design. The treatment was focused on the different doses of Sardinella longiceps oil, which was fed to eels at P0 (0%), P1 (2%), P2 (4%), P3 (6%), and P4 (8%) levels in the field. The main saturated and unsaturated fatty acids of the swamp eels were estimated. The use of Sardinella longiceps oil on commercial feed showed a significant difference (p<0.05) in their fatty acid composition of eels. There was a decrease in saturated fatty acid level 40.05 and an increase in unsaturated fatty acids 34.12 in P4 8%.
