Postpartum infections with reproductive performance of Holstein Friesian dairy cow in the partnership farms

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A total of 74 Holstein Friesian dairy cows with postpartum infections were sampled in this study to observe their reproduction performance, including Service per Conception (S/C), Days Open (DO), and Calving Interval (CI). 78.4% of cows were indicated Retention of the Fetal Membrane (RFM) and 21.6% with metritis. The results showed that the mean value of S/C in cows with postpartum infection was 3.3, while the mean values of DO and CI were 160 days and 432 days, respectively, indicating that postpartum infections can reduce the reproductive performance of dairy cows.
