Abstract

The European Union does not have the capability and authority in bringing stability and peace in Europe alone. Instead, the European Union relying on NATO as a security regionalism that formed before the European Union was formed. NATO and the European Union have agreed on a deal that called ESDP. Both of these regional organizations agree to make Europe realize that advanced both in terms of economic and social (welfare) and the stability and peace. Commitment to complement each other will not be found in other areas in other parts of the world as well. However, the author refers to the question: why EU still need the presence of NATO as the security institution in the Europe? The argument of this paper is, EU never had security aspect at their institution framework when the threats still remains in this contemporary world.
