Abstract

Improving the quality of image reconstruction in electrical tomography systems continues to be rapidly developed by the invention of new data collection and reconstruction methods. A kind of an effective method suggested is a combination of a data collection method and its partner. This pair of data collection method was obtained by shifting the whole electrode, so that it fills the position where there was not an electrode previously. To test the performance of the data collection methods suggested, the methods of data collection used were adjacent; and the reconstruction methods of filtered back projection, and modified Newton Raphson. The study showed that the average reconstructed image of combined adjacent and shift adjacent data collection methods is better than the reconstructed image of the individual data collection method of adjacent; shift adjacent; and the simultaneous combination of adjacent and shift adjacent collection.
