Abstract
Introduction: Ship sanitation is an effort to reduce environmental risk factors in breaking the chain of disease transmission in order to maintain and improve health status. Ship sanitation that does not meet standards will have an impact on health problems for both passengers and crew members. Ship sanitation efforts apply to all types of ships, both ships carrying goods and passengers, to obtain a sanitation certificate t o obtain a Sailing Health Permit (SIKB). Objective: To provide information regarding the sanitation picture of ships docked at ports in Indonesia in accordance with applicable health regulations in order to improve health status. Method: This research uses the prism method to search for studies related to the topic of discussion. The criteria for studies reviewed are journals published within the last 5 years (2018-2023). Result: On ships, sanitation assessments are carried out in several rooms such as the kitchen, warehouse, sleeping area, drinking wat er, liquid waste, ballast water, and the presence of vectors. Based on the 13 articles reviewed, it is known that not all ships docking at Indonesian ports have met sanitation requirements. Most of them have fulfilled the sanitation requirements in accordance with Minister of Heal th Regulation Number 40 of 2015. Some of them have not fulfilled them due to the lack of sanitation requirements in several rooms on the ship. Especially in waste and waste management variables. So, it is necessary to improve sanitation and provide outreach to crew members to increase knowledge regarding ship hygiene and sanitation related to the resulting health impacts Conclusion:. It is necessary to evaluate the implementation of good sanitation for sea vessel transportation. Port officials are expected to be able to improve sanitation and be stricter in managing passenger order on ships for the common good and comfort. Good ship sanitation conditions will result in a Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (SSCEC), and if sanitation conditions are poor, a Ship Sanitation Control Certificate (SSCC) will be obtained.
