Effect of Adding Bromelain Enzyme on Commercial Feed against Feed Conversion Ratio and Survival Rate of Gourami (Osphronemus gouramy) Fish

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Gourami (Osphronemusgouramy) fish grows at a relatively slow rate, which can hinder efforts to increase production to meet high market demand. An alternative to increase the feed conversion ratio of gourami fry is by utilizing pineapple (Ananascomosus). The treatments used in this study were the addition of enzyme bromelain in commercial feed to enhance feed conversion ratio (FCR) and survival rate. The result of FCR showed significant differences by adding enzyme bromelain on commercial feed in gourami fish. The result of Survival rate showed no significant differences by adding enzyme bromelain in commercial feed.
