Abstract
Background: Message Reminder was identified as a strategy to increase complete basic immunization coverage in children and assist mothers in knowing the correct schedule for providing immunizations to their children. This has an impact on the timeliness of providing regular immunizations which can support increasing the achievement of complete basic immunization. Objective: This study reviews previous research that describes the effect of Message Reminders on the timeliness of immunizations for children. Method: A systematic literature search was carried out in July – August 2023 using databases namely Science Direct, ProQuest, and Pubmed from a population of 48 articles over the last 5 years (2018 – 2023), then selected into 4 articles according to the criteria. 48 articles then entered the elimination stage until the final result was that 4 articles met the requirements for full text review. Study quality was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS). Results: We identified 4 studies. Efforts to increase complete basic immunization coverage for children are carried out by providing Message Reminders to caregivers or parents of children, so as to increase mother's compliance in providing complete Basic Immunization to children according to the specified schedule. Conclusion: From the 4 journals reviewed, there were several mothers who became obedient and routinely followed the immunization schedule for their children after being given a Message Reminder by health workers.
