Abstract

The study aim was to determine the psychological well-being model among teenagers with divorced parents in East Java.The study of psychological well-being models in teenagers with divorced parents and its association with self-esteem and peer support was analyzed. This study was done based on quantitative and explanatory method. The samples were selected based on study criteria such as teenagers with divorced parents in East Java,aged between 15 years and 18 years. The data was collected by using questionnaire and analyzed by using multiple regression analysis with SPPS software. The result showed communication with parents had increased teenagers optimism in achieving future goals. Besides, self-esteem also played important role in improving the psychological well-being in form of emotional competence. Meanwhile, external factors which played role was peer group support in form of acceptance, recognition and appreciation. Hence, peer group support played greater role in improving teenager’s self-esteem and affected psychological well-being in teenagers with divorced parents.
