Candesartan cilexetil is belonged to the angiotesin-II receptor antagonist. The drug has more than 30 polymorphic forms and 15 known impurities. X-ray diffraction studies could be used for characterizing the polymorph, whilst for identification of the impurities, NMR and MS methods were used. This present review also summarized and discussed various methods for analyzing candesartan cilexetil as bulk substances, drug preparations and in biological matrixes.
