Anticancer potential of naringenin: An overview

Abstract

Naringenin is commonly found in edible fruits, like citrus species and tomatoes. It posseses various biological activities like anticancer, antidiabetic, antidepressant, antiatherogenic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, immunomodulatory and memory improving. The present overview conducted confirm information available describing naringenin as a potential anticancer compounds because of its polyphenols content. Current literatures survey were obtained using Sciendirect, Scopus, PubMed, SpringerLink and Google Scholar. This overview showed naringenin have a lot of benefits of biological activities as a drug associated with cancer cell inhibition Naringenin is poten agent in inhibiting cell proliferation, apoptotic induction cell, reducing invasion and metastasis. Hence, it recommended as a promising candidate for anticancer therapy for future drug development.
