Abstract

Introduction: Reproductive health education, especially understanding menstruation, is an important aspect in the development of young women. Education about menstruation has a crucial role in increasing their understanding of this process. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact of education about menstruation on female students' knowledge. The main focus of the research was to identify improvements in female students' understanding before and after the counseling session. Method: The method used is a descriptive method. Target grade student class 5 and 6 in Lamongan area in 2023 Result: The results showed a significant increase in female students' knowledge about menstruation after the counseling session. However, there are several areas that still require attention, such as understanding the age of menarche, the frequency of changing sanitary napkins, and the characteristics of puberty in women. Conclusion: Counseling about menstruation has succeeded in increasing female students' understanding in general. Therefore, it is recommended to continue to improve methods of conveying information to improve female students' overall understanding of menstruation. It is hoped that this will support young women in managing their puberty better and making wiser decisions regarding their reproductive health.
