Abstract

Introduction: Indonesia is the second highest contributor to malaria cases after India for the WHO South-East Asia region in 2020-2021. One of the causes of the incidence of malaria in the community, one of which is caused by behavioral factors in the habit of using insect nets, the habit of using mosquito repellent, and the habit of doing activities at home at night. Objective: to analyze behavioral risk factors including the habit of using insecticide-treated mosquito nets, the habit of using mosquito repellent, and the habit of doing activities outside the home at night with malaria cases in people in Indonesia. Methods:. This study uses the meta-analysis method on the JASP application version 0.9.2. The data sources used are 33 literatures from Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct. Results: The results of the meta-analysis show that people who do not have the habit of using insecticide-treated mosquito nets have a 2,248 times greater risk of contracting malaria than people who have a habit of using insecticide-treated mosquito nets. Furthermore, people who have a habit of doing activities outside the home at night have a 2.014 times greater risk of contracting malaria compared to people who do not have the habit of doing activities outside the home at night. While the habit of using mosquito repellent is not a risk factor. Conclusion The highest behavioral risk factor for malaria in people in Indonesia is caused by the habit of using insecticide-treated mosquito nets.
