Abstract

Boiler is the heart of Palm Oil Industry that has main duty to supply the desired amount of steam. One of the accessories of boiler is superheater that can increase temperature from saturation to desired number temperature. Tube failure in superheater is found and disturb regularly operating. Aim of this paper to predict the possible cause of superheater failure in Palm Oil Waste Boiler. This analysis is carried out using chemical properties on Encrustation for inner and outer of tube and measurement of diameter and thickness near failure spot. Failure investigation on SA213 T22 of superheater tube may occur caused sulfur in fuel, flue gas combination of low temperature and high-temperature corrosion, the non-uniform high-temperature distribution of flue gas and water quality of feed water boiler.
