Prof. Dr. Peter Mahmud Marzuki, S.H., M.S., LL.M. is a Professor of Basic Law at the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University. He obtained his Bachelor of Law, majoring in Constitutional Law in 1977 from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga. Then, he received a Master's degree in Administrative Law in 1982 at Airlangga University. In 1986, Prof. Peter obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Washington College of Law with a concentration in International Business Transactions. After that, in 1993, he received his Doctorate in Law from Airlangga University. For his contribution to legal scholarship, he was inaugurated as a Professor in 2005. 

Prof. Peter has been an active lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga, since 1987. He is also an Extraordinary Lecturer at several other universities, such as the University of Surabaya, Sam Ratulangi University, Diponegoro University, and Pelita Harapan University, Surabaya. His areas of expertise are Basic Law, Legal Philosophy, and Business Law. He is also actively writing books related to his theory of sui generis legal research. Some of the titles of his books are Introduction to Law, Legal Research, and Legal Theory. 

In addition to his academic activities, Prof. Peter was also active as a Law Development Advisor for the Economics Law and Improved Procurement System (ELIPS) from 1993 to 1997. ELIPS is a project in the Office of the Minister of Economics and Development Oversight with funding from USAID. Prof. Peter is also one of the World's Top 100 Scientists for Indonesia in Law and Legal Studies, taking the 5th position.
