Nadya Afdholy is a lecturer in the Master’s Program in Literary and Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Airlangga. Her research interests lie in the sociology of literature and cultural studies, examining the interplay between literature, society, and culture in Indonesia. She explores how literary texts reflect and shape social norms and cultural narratives, with a focus on gender dynamics, marginalized groups, and the preservation of cultural heritage. Nadya’s interdisciplinary approach combines literary analysis with ethnographic studies, highlighting the impact of technology on language preservation and digital literature, thereby contributing valuable insights into Indonesian cultural identity.

She teaches various courses at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Airlangga. She is actively involved in the academic community as a member of the New Directions in the Humanities Research Network, part of the Common Ground Research Networks based in Champaign, Illinois, US, since October 2022. She contributes her expertise as a peer reviewer for a diverse range of prestigious journals. Her reviews span high-impact journals such as KEMANUSIAAN: The Asian Journal of Humanities and Cogent Arts & Humanities. She also reviews for journals within the Common Ground Research Network, including The International Journal of Literary Humanities, The International Journal of Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies, The International Journal of Communication and Linguistic Studies, and The International Journal of Critical Cultural Studies. Additionally, she reviews for Herança – Revista de História, Património e Cultura, International Journal of Innovative Research and Scientific Studies, and several SINTA-indexed journals such as Satwika: Kajian Ilmu Budaya dan Perubahan Sosial and Lingua Franca: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajarannya. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of Cultural Narratives, a journal focusing on social sciences, cultural studies, linguistics, and literature.
