Franky Butar Butar S.H., M.Dev. Prac., LL.M. is a permanent lecturer at the Department of Administrative Law, Faculty of Law, Airlangga University. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree (S.H.) from the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, in 2005. Then he continued his education by obtaining a Master of Development Practice. (M.Dev.Prac) James Cook University, Australia, in 2006 and a Master of Laws (LL.M) at Gadjah Mada University in 2020.
His academic career began as a permanent lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga, since 2006. He teaches International Environmental Law, Environmental Law, Spatial Planning Law, Mining Law, and Natural Resources Law. He has also published various scientific works in Environmental Law and Mining Law studies as an academic. Apart from being active in several teaching and research activities, he is also involved in various Community Service activities.
Currently, he is a member of the Association of Indonesian Environmental Law Trustees. He currently holds the Director of the Center of Human Rights Law Studies (HRLS) of the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University, and Secretary of the Consultation and Legal Aid Unit, Faculty of Law, Airlangga University.
