Dr. Agus Sekarmadji, S.H., M.Hum., graduated with a Bachelor of Law from the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University, in 1991. Then, he completed his Master's in Humanities in 1999 at Gadjah Mada University and a Doctor of Law from the Faculty of Law, Airlangga University, in 2010. He is a permanent lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga.

His academic career began in 2002 when he became a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga. His areas of expertise are Agrarian Law, Sociology of Law, Land Acquisition Law, Land Registration Law, Real Estate Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Housing and Settlement Law, Land Law, Land Law Politics, Regional Planning Law, and City Planning Law.
