Organisation profile

Center for Environmental, Social, and Governance Studies is a research center under Universitas Airlangga that focuses on addressing sustainability issues in the private sector. With a primary focus on sustainability, we are committed to seeing a comprehensive transformation of the business sector in Indonesia into a sustainable one by 2030. This vision reflects our commitment as a research center to make a positive impact not only on the corporate realm but also on society at large.

Visi dan Misi

CESGS is guided by the vision "Aiming for Sustainable Sector in Indonesia by 2030," hoping that many business sectors in Indonesia will consider sustainability aspects in their business objectives. The increasing environmental degradation year by year, along with the lack of awareness among many companies in Indonesia about the urgency of implementing sustainability or ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) in their business goals, is our main focus. If not promptly addressed, this could have severe impacts on the environment and society as a whole.

As a research center concerned with sustainability aspects, in 2023, CESGS endeavored to turn research outcomes into tangible actions. We achieved this by offering optimal solutions and educating people from various walks of life on sustainability issues. We recognize that research alone is insufficient to contribute towards sustainable development. We strive to assist companies across all business sectors to aim for the best ratings and develop a full awareness of sustainability values that can be internalized into their businesses. Thus, companies can positively impact both their business and the surrounding community.
